On July 1, 2026, Oakville Transit will be operating a holiday service from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Holiday service is the equivalent of a Sunday service schedule. Schedule details are available on the Schedules and Maps page.
Detours
Due to Canada Day celebrations located at the Bronte Heritage Waterfront, road closures will be in effect in the Bronte Waterfront and surrounding areas on July 1, 2026 from 2 to 9 p.m.
The following routes will be detoured:
- Route 3 – Third Line
- Route 14 / 14A – Lakeshore West
Customers may use bus stops located along the detour route, along with temporary bus stop locations noted above.
Although bus stops will be out of service, the changes will not be reflected on the Oakville Transit website, app, and online schedules.
care-A-van service
On Canada Day, care-A-van service operates on a holiday service schedule, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers will not be able to book a ride after 7:30 p.m.
care-A-van customers who book a ride to the Bronte Heritage Waterfront and surrounding area are required to make their own return arrangements. Keep in mind that due to road closures, access is limited to the free Canada Day shuttles.
As an alternative, riders can board the free Canada Day shuttle operating to and from the Bronte GO Station bus loop, the same location as the care-A-van pickup and drop off.
There will be Late Night drop-off only service at the Bronte GO.
Free shuttle service
A free shuttle will be available to provide customers access to the Bronte Waterfront and festivities from Bronte GO station.
- Route: The shuttle will run back and forth between Bronte GO Station (Bus Bay 12) and Bronte Waterfront (Marine Drive and Jones Street)
- Start time: 3:40 p.m.
- Frequency: Continuous shuttle service until end of celebrations (approximately 11:30 p.m.)
The pick-up and drop-off location for care-A-van and free shuttle service will be on Marine Drive, west of Jones Street
