Oakville experienced heavy snow on January 25

Significant Weather Declaration

Oakville experienced heavy snow on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Read the Town of Oakville's Significant Weather Declaration for January 25, 2026.

As we move deeper into the winter season, we want to remind our community that severe snowstorms and extreme cold weather events can have a significant impact on travel and transit operations.

During periods of heavy snowfall, icy road conditions, or dangerously low temperatures, delays may occur even as our team works continuously to provide safe and reliable service.

Your safety is always our highest priority

Crews will be out clearing snow, applying salt, monitoring routes, and taking every step possible to keep services moving. However, winter conditions can sometimes affect visibility, road traction, and overall travel times, so we encourage everyone to plan ahead when possible.

Access to transit stops

Winter weather and ongoing snowplow operations may temporarily affect access to some transit stops. Snowbanks and road conditions can make certain stops more challenging to reach for both riders and operators.

Our crews and Town operations teams are working continuously to clear routes, improve visibility, and restore safe access as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Please allow extra time for travel and be prepared for major delays across the system as winter conditions continue to impact roadways.

We encourage riders to:

  • Use care when approaching stops, especially where snowbanks remain
  • Check real-time transit tools for delays and bus arrival information
  • Plan additional travel time and dress warmly for extended waits
