Overnight road closure on Bronte Road may cause Transit delays June 17-18, 2026

Construction work will take place on Bronte Road, from Upper Middle Road to Charles Cornwall Avenue, overnight from 6:30 p.m. on June 17 until 6:30 a.m. on June 18, 2026.

Impact to Oakville Transit service

Due to overnight road construction, lane reductions, temporary traffic shifts will be in effect along Bronte Road. 

Oakville Transit routes are operating as scheduled; customers may experience delays. Affected routes include:

Construction details

Work will be completed overnight in two stages to reduce daytime traffic disruption:

  • Stage 1: Closure of east-side northbound lanes (traffic shifted west)
  • Stage 2: Closure of west-side southbound lanes (traffic shifted east)
  • Through traffic will be maintained at all times.

Additional information:

  • Saw Whet Boulevard will be closed during construction hours
  • Access to properties will be maintained
  • Paid Duty Officers will be present at intersections
