Dundas Street construction may cause delays to Route 5 starting August 24, 2026

Effective: Monday, August 24, 2026  to  Friday, October 2, 2026

Oakville Transit customers travelling on Route 5 – Dundas may experience delays, and temporary bus stop impacts due to road resurfacing along Dundas Street West from Fourth Line to Gladeside Avenue.

Construction Details

Road resurfacing work along Dundas Street West from Fourth Line to Gladeside Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Transit Impacts

Route 5 buses will continue to operate, delays are expected.

Rolling bus stop closures may occur as equipment moves through the corridor.

Crews will aim to maintain safe access to bus stops where possible; however, some stops may be temporarily closed for safety.

Bus operators will stop at the closest, safest location.

Timeline

Overall project completion: Anticipated by October 2, 2026 (weather dependent).
