Possible construction delays and rolling bus stop closure on Route 6, effective June 24, 2026

Effective: Immediately to August 7, 2026 (weather permitting)

Oakville Transit customers travelling on Route 6 – Upper Middle may experience delays, and temporary bus stop impacts due to road construction along Upper Middle Road East. Please allow extra travel time.

Construction details

Road work will take place in phases:

Phase 2 - Ongoing

• Road resurfacing work along Upper Middle Road East, between Trafalgar Road, and Sixth Line
• Upper Middle will be intermittently reduced to one lane in each direction between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

Phase 1 - Complete

• Work will begin on the north side of Upper Middle Road East, starting from Joshua’s Creek to Grosvenor Boulevard, moving westward
• Traffic will be shifted to the south side, with one lane open in each direction
• As crews progress west, completed sections will reopen and new sections will be temporarily closed
• Near east of Trafalgar Road, work will shift to the opposite side and continue eastward back toward Joshua’s Creek with similar lane restrictions

Transit impacts

• Route 6 buses will continue to operate, but delays are expected
• Rolling bus stop closures may occur as equipment moves through the corridor
• Crews will aim to maintain safe access to bus stops where possible; however, some stops may be temporarily closed for safety
• Bus operators will stop at the closest, safest location
