Service changes and schedule adjustments to improve service reliability during weekday rush hour.
The new Route 3A is a shorter version of the Route 3. It will provide direct travel from the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital to Bronte GO to South Oakville Centre; it will not travel the south-west loop around Rebecca Street, Bronte Road, Lakeshore Road and Third Line south of Rebecca.
Route 3 will continue its current route providing service on the south-west loop along Rebecca Street, Bronte Road and Lakeshore Road and Third Line south of Rebecca. Service frequency will change to every 30 minutes during rush hour. Midday, evening and weekend service will remain the same. The combined service on Route 3 and 3A will provide service frequency every 15 minutes during rush hour along Third Line between the hospital, Bronte GO and South Oakville Centre.
During rush hours, customers in the Bronte Village area will have the option of using Route 3, 14 or 14A to travel to South Oakville Centre and transfer onto Route 3 or 3A to continue to Bronte GO station or north on Third Line. Or, simply remain on the bus – after a 15-minute layover at South Oakville Centre, it will continue north on Third Line towards the Bronte GO and the hospital.
