Road Construction Impacts

Transit customers may experience delays

Road construction activity can have an impact on transit service by slowing down traffic flow, and delays can be experienced. Lane restriction and road closure may require buses to detour, and temporarily close or relocate bus stops. We encourage our customers to plan ahead, and we promise to get you there safely.

Major construction projects currently impacting transit services

Dundas Street (ongoing until Fall 2020)

Halton Region is widening Dundas Street (from Neyagawa Boulevard and Oak Park Boulevard) from four to six lanes. During the construction, Route 5 will be detoured via Sixth Line, Sixteen Mile Drive and Neyagawa Boulevard in both directions. For up-to-date closures and detours, visit the service update page.

Speers Road (July 2019 to November 2020)

The town will be widening and reconstructing Speers Road to five lanes with separated on-road bike lanes and new sidewalks from Third Line to Fourth Line. During the construction, bus shelters will be removed and some bus stops will be relocated temporarily. For up-to-date closures, visit the service update page.

Road resurfacing program 2019

Town of Oakville will repave a number of roads this year, some of them are along transit route. Visit road resurfacing program for details and schedule.
