Road Construction Impacts

Transit customers may experience delays

Summer road construction is underway in a number of areas of the Town. Construction activity can have an impact on transit service by slowing down traffic flow, and delays can be experienced. We encourage our customers to plan ahead, and we promise to get you there safely.

Construction projects currently impacting transit services

Cornwall Road (until December 2018)

The Town is widening and reconstructing Cornwall Road between Chartwell Road and Morrison Road into a four lane urban road. All eastbound and westbound bus stops on Cornwall Road between Chartwell and Morrison will be out of service temporarily during the construction.

Dundas Street (starting September 17, 2018)

Halton Region is widening Dundas Street (from Neyagawa Boulevard and Oak Park Boulevard) from four to six lanes. During the construction, Route 5 will be detoured via Sixth Line, Sixteen Mile Drive and Neyagawa Boulevard in both directions.

Iroquois Shore Road (until November 2018)

Halton Region is replacing watermain between Trafalgar and Eighth Line. Expect traffic delays and some impacts to bus stops on Iroquois Shore Road.

Leighland Avenue (until November 2018)

Halton Region is replacing watermain between Sixth Line and Trafalgar. Expect traffic delays and some impacts to bus stops along the north side of Leighland Avenue.

Reynolds Street (until November 10, 2018)

Road resurfacing program (mid-May to October 2018)

Halton Region is repaving Upper Middle Road from Neyagawa Boulevard to Sixth Line.
Town of Oakville will repave a number of roads this year, some of them are along transit route. Visit road resurfacing program for details and schedule.
