PRESTO

Welcome to even more convenience with the new PRESTO card. No more coins, no more tickets and no more passes are required - just one card does it all.

The Government of Ontario, GO Transit, Oakville Transit and seven other municipal transit systems in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and Ottawa, have partnered to introduce PRESTO - a new electronic fare system.

PRESTO uses the latest technology to make it easier to pay your fare while travelling within and between transit systems by the simple tap of a card. The system calculates the fare for your trip and deducts it from the balance stored on your card - all in less than a second.

Oakville Transit fares and PRESTO
With PRESTO, a fare is deducted from your card each time you travel. There is a built-in loyalty program and Oakvlle Transit riders will receive fare discounts based upon the number of rides taken and the value of the fares accumulated within the calendar month. Visit our FAQs page for more information.

Adult fares only
At this time, Oakville Transit is offering PRESTO for adult fares only. Student, child and senior PRESTO fares will be available in the late fall of 2010.

Co-fare discounts with PRESTO
Under PRESTO, the co-fare discounts which currently exist between Oakville Transit and GO Transit will continue. For information about the reduced local transit fare (co-fare), please visit our FAQs page.
